Last week I posted a traffic jam on the New River here in Fort Lauderdale, after the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). This week I follow up with the next round, 5 yachts, over 30 meters each, dodging an oncoming barge then packing into the tight space between the draw bridges at 3rd Avenue and Andrews Avenue.
It’s a tense situation, handled masterfully by experienced captains and tug operators. Something quite wild to watch, as these huge boats worm their way up the twists and turns of the New River, bound for the marinas, namely Safe Harbor Lauderdale Marine Center, far inland.

As for Wanderbird, we’re waiting on hydraulic valves from Germany, but should be back on the water in the coming weeks.
